David Hertz Serves as Juror for AIA Los Angeles Residential Architecture Awards
David Hertz served as a juror for the 2026 AIA Los Angeles Residential Architecture Awards, an important program recognizing excellence in residential design across Los Angeles. The Residential Architecture Awards celebrate work at every scale, from emerging practices to established firms, highlighting projects that push the boundaries of design while responding thoughtfully to context, environment, and the evolving ways we live.
David joined Toni Lewis, AIA, LEED AP, CASp, Susan Nwankpa Gillespie, AIA, and Dave Intner, AIA, CEM, LEED AP, bringing diverse perspectives to the evaluation of this year’s submissions, tasked with reviewing submissions and evaluating projects based on design quality, innovation, and overall impact. Jury deliberations took place on April 24, 2026, during the official Jury Day, as part of a rigorous selection process leading up to the awards announcement.
David’s participation reflects his long-standing commitment to advancing residential architecture, not only through practice but through engagement with the broader design community. His perspective, rooted in sustainability, resilience, and environmental responsibility, aligns closely with the values these awards aim to highlight. We’re honored to contribute to conversations that shape the future of housing and design in Los Angeles, and we look forward to seeing the exceptional work recognized through this year’s program. The Awards Ceremony is taking place in June, 2026.
