Interior of a restaurant with wooden floors, black ceiling beams, large windows with beige curtains, and tables set with glassware, plates, and napkins.

felix trattoria

Located in Abbot Kinney in Venice, California, Felix is a new restaurant by chef Evan Funke and entrepreneur Janet Zuccarini.

The existing 2,492-square-foot restaurant space was demolished, and wood floors, exposed wood roof, and historical façade were preserved. The open-air patio was re-designed and turned into an enclosed dining area. The eclectic ambiance combines modern elements with the hits of Old World Italy, embracing natural light and a laid-back Californian flair. A focal point of the dining room is Chef Funke’s pasta laboratory, where guests can watch him make pasta by hand through steel-framed windows surrounded by vibrant tiled walls. The kitchen was upgraded with a wood-burning pizza oven, while a vintage Italian chandelier adorns the new bar.
