The Sail House
The Sail House is a dappled array of structures, consisting of a main residence and several guesthouses. The project is named for the nautical inspired tensile roofs, forms that are a contextual response to the sailing culture of the Grenadines and also environmental building systems. HOME: Season 1, Episode 8 (Apple TV+)
David’s legacy of sustainable design and adaptive reuse is featured in the first season of the Apple TV+ docuseries, HOME. The episode is centered around XANABU, and the how the vibrant relics of a Hollywood set designer have been repurposed and born anew as both a sacred space, and as a home for David and his wife, Laura.

The 747 Wing House is the first featured residence in the series premiere of The World's Most Extraordinary Homes. Show hosts Piers and Caroline walk the grounds and discuss different features of the design, and the client describes the project in her own words, too.
Precipitating Change
David Hertz discusses the studio’s work to democratize water. An atmospheric water generator is installed at the back of SEA, which supplies a public bottle filling station available to any passersby. Since the release of this documentary short, we continued working towards water equity, which culminated in winning the Water Abundance XPRIZE.
