FUSELODGE
Originally envisioned as part of the broader 747 Wing House master plan, “Fuselodge" is constructed from the upper fuselage shell of a retired Boeing 747. After acquiring the aircraft and repurposing its wings for the award-winning Wing House, the key fuselage components were preserved and stored for future architectural applications. Fuselodge is located on the same property as the 747 Wing House.
Completed and permitted years later, Fuselodge transforms the aircraft's iconic upper deck into a sculptural art studio that blurs the boundary between infrastructure and architecture. The project reflects David Hertz Architects' longstanding commitment to regenerative design and the creative reuse of existing materials, extending the life cycle of a retired aircraft in an entirely new context.
