Collecting Rainwater in the Grenadines

The Sail House, designed in collaboration with TomaHouse, is under construction. These extremely flexible roofs are designed to withstand hurricane force winds, provide generous shade, and collect rainwater at its four corners.

The first of many tensile roof membranes, which stretch over prefabricated steel and aluminum components shipped from Indonesia to the island of Bequia in the Grenadines. The tensile membranes are installed on the aluminum components, beginning to define the roofline and orient themselves to collect rainwater.
